Screenwriter Peter Buchman is in final negotiations to adapt The Wonga Coup for Miramax and Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions.
The project, based on a book by Economist writer Adam Roberts, centers on a failed coup attempt in Equatorial Guinea that’s driven by the desire to control oil.
Buchman has written the screenplays for Steven Soderbergh’s Che Guevara films Guerilla and The Argentine. His credits include Eragon and Jurassic Park III.
