Deadpool & Wolverine Trailer Has a Giant Dead Ant-Man Easter Egg

The latest Deadpool & Wolverine trailer features multiple MCU references, including a peculiar Ant-Man easter egg. Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang isn’t confirmed to appear in the movie, but a variant of Ant-Man has been revealed to have presence in typical, R-rated Deadpool fashion.

Deadpool & Wolverine trailer reveals a gruesome Ant-Man easter egg

The first official Deadpool & Wolverine trailer reveals Cassandra Nova walking out of a giant Ant-Man’s head. It isn’t just the Giant Man suit, but his entire rotten corpse makes an appearance, which Cassandra Nova has turned into her headquarters in the void at the end of time.

Nova is first seen walking out of Ant-Man’s skull at 1:39 in the trailer, but Ant-Man’s body can be spotted at 1:51. Another shot at 1:59 shows Cassandra Nova’s soldiers exploding in front of Giant Man’s hands. Lastly, Wolverine and Deadpool are seen jumping out of Ant-Man’s eye, into a sling ring portal at 2:10.

After Loki Season 2 ended He Who Remains’ reign, Cassandra Nova likely took control of things in the Void at the end of time. Alioth became her pet. Furthermore, her army of mutants, including Lady Deathstrike, Toad, Azazel, and several others, can all be spotted in front of the hollowed-out Giant Man’s dead body.

The identity and backstory of this dead Ant-Man haven’t been revealed yet. But this variant, whether it was Scott Lang or Hank Pym, could have run into Nova in the void. Following his defeat, his body became a base for Nova and her army.

The film will likely spend considerable time at this particular location, with Deadpool and Wolverine fighting their way up to Cassandra Nova.

Directed by Shawn Levy, Deadpool & Wolverine stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the lead. It hits the theaters on July 26, 2024.
