Road House Remake Viewership Breaks Records on Prime Video

The recently released Road House remake has been a massive hit for Amazon MGM Studios, with the studio recently confirming it’s been one of the most successful films ever for Prime Video.

According to Amazon MGM Studios, the Road House remake has become the studios’ most-watched film debut ever on a worldwide basis, with over 50 million worldwide viewers over the film’s first two weekends.

In a statement on the news, head of Amazon MGM Studios Jennifer Salke praised those behind the film, including Jake Gyllenhaal, Conor McGregor, Daniela Melchior, and more.

“The groundbreaking, successful debut of Road House is a testament to the hard work and commitment from the entire Road House filmmaking team and the film’s cast led by the phenomenal Jake Gyllenhaal,” said Salke. “The world is absolutely loving this entertaining, action-packed ride anchored by the performances of Jake, Conor McGregor, Daniela Melchior, Darren Barnet, Billy Magnussen, Jessica Williams, Lukas Gage, Arturo Castro, JD Pardo, and the rest of our stellar cast. It’s great to see the film taking off with both fans of the iconic original as well as a huge turnout from new audiences. What is the Road House remake about?

“In this adrenaline-fueled reimagining of the 80s cult classic, ex-UFC fighter Dalton (Jake Gyllenhaal) takes a job as a bouncer at a Florida Keys roadhouse, only to discover that this paradise is not all it seems,” reads the remake’s synopsis.

Written by Anthony Bagarozzi and Chuck Mondry, The Road House remake is directed by Doug Liman, who is known for making 2002’s The Bourne Identity, 2005’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith, 2014’s Edge of Tomorrow, and, most recently, 2021’s Chaos Walking with Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley.
