Linda Cardellini, Tim Heidecker Join Ben Stiller in David Gordon Green’s Nutcrackers

Linda Cardellini, Tim Heidecker, Edi Patterson, and Toby Huss have joined the cast of David Gordon Green’s Nutcrackers.

Per Variety, Cardellini, Heidecker, Patterson, and Huss are all joining Ben Stiller in Nutcrackers, a new movie directed by The Exorcist: Believer’s David Gordon Green.

Cardellini plays a social worker in the film, while Heidecker plays a local deputy, Huss plays an “eccentric empty-nester millionaire,” and Patterson plays an orphan profiteer.

Nutcrackers is written by Leland Douglas, while Stiller, John Lesher, Nate Meyer, Rob Paris, and Mike Witherill serve as producers.

What is Nutcrackers about?

“Nutcrackers follows the work-obsessed Mike (Stiller), who must reluctantly travel to rural Ohio to look after his four rambunctious nephews after their parents die in a car accident,” the synopsis reads. “What begins as a three-day trip to find foster care turns into weeks of farm-life mayhem – and the realization that he doesn’t need to find them a home, they’ve found one for him.”

Cardellini is known for starring in 1999-2000’s Freaks and Geeks, 2001’s Legally Blonde, 2005’s Brokeback Mountain, and 2019’s The Curse of La Llorona. She also played Velma Dinkley in 2002’s Scooby-Doo and 2004’s Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed and stars as Laura Barton in the MCU.

Heidecker is best known as a comedian who frequently works with Eric Wareheim. He’s appeared in movies such as 2011’s Bridesmaids, 2012’s Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie, 2019’s Us, and more.

Patterson, meanwhile, plays Judy Gemstone in HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones, while she’s also starred in 2019’s Knives Out and 2022’s Violent Night. Huss is known for AMC’s Halt and Catch Fire, 2018’s Halloween, 2022’s Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, and other titles.

Nutcrackers recently wrapped filming in Cincinnati, Ohio. A release date for the movie has not yet been set.
