Kill Them All: Extraction Director to Helm Action Comedy Movie

According to Deadline, Extraction director Sam Hargrave has been tapped to helm Paramount Pictures’ long-in-development film adaptation of Kyle M. Starks’ graphic novel Kill Them All.

Hargrave first gained recognition as a stunt coordinator for multiple high-profile movies such as Deadpool 2 and Avengers: Endgame. He finally made his feature-length directorial debut with Netflix’s Chris Hemsworth-led action thriller Extraction, which was followed by 2023’s Extraction 2. Before Hargrave, Lovecraft Country director Victoria Mahoney was originally in talks to direct the project back in 2020.

What is Kill Them All about?

First published in 2015, the Kill Them All graphic novel was illustrated by Starks and Luigi Anderson. Described as a love letter to 1990s action movies, the story follows an elite female assassin who goes on a revenge campaign with a hard-drinking former cop. They teamed up to take down a crime lord. “They embark on a relentless, action-packed assault through the 15 floors of the syndicate’s headquarters,” reads the synopsis. “Her ultimate target: the Boss, with whom she has a complicated past.”

The film adaptation will be written by James Coyne with Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemac, and Starks serving as producers. Paramount Pictures has been attached to the project since since February 2019. It is executive produced by Oni Press.
