Scream Factory is set to release Robert Rodriguez’s teen sci-fi horror gem The Faculty on 4K UHD sometime in the near future.
The Faculty 4K UHD Release Details
The film was released back in 1998 and is reminiscent of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, retold through the lens of the late 90s post-Scream teen horror boom. One of its writers is even Scream’s Kevin Williamson.
To the students at Harrington High, the principal and her posse of teachers have always been a little odd, but lately they’ve been behaving positively alien. Controlled by otherworldly parasites, the faculty tries to infect students one by one. Cheerleader Delilah (Jordana Brewster), football player Stan (Shawn Hatosy), drug dealer Zeke (Josh Hartnett), and new girl Marybeth (Laura Harris) team up with some of their other classmates to fight back against the invaders.
The Faculty also stars Elijah Wood, Robert Patrick, Clea DuVall, Famke Janssen, Usher, Salma Hayek Pinault, and Jon Stewart.
According to reputed but semi-reliable industry insider and scooper Daniel Richtman (Daniel RPK), a modern remake of The Faculty is in the works, and Robert Rodriguez will be involved as the producer.
The Faculty 4K UHD has no set release date, but an announcement shouldn’t be too far off.
