What is High Tension about?

High Tension is billed as a “terrifying terror ride,” complete with extreme violence and bloody sequences. The film follows two best friends, Marie and Alex, as they spend a supposedly fun weekend at Alex’s childhood home. However, when a deranged killer breaks in and slaughters Alex’s family before kidnapping her, Marie embarks on a bloody adventure to save her friend.

The synopsis for High Tension reads: “Alex and Marie’s study weekend takes a savage turn when a murderous maniac turns up on their doorstep. As Alex’s family is gruesomely picked off one-by-one and one of them is taken hostage, a white-knuckle pursuit ensues as Marie desperately battles to save them both from becoming his next victims.”

The 2003 horror feature starred Cécile de France as Marie, Maïwenn as Alexia Soral, and Philippe Nahon as The Killer.
