Kristen Stewart ‘Hated’ Making the Charlie’s Angels Reboot

During a recent interview with Variety, Oscar nominee Kristen Stewart opened up about her experience working on 2019’s Charlie’s Angels reboot, revealing that she actually “hated” filming it. In the action comedy remake, Stewart played the role of one of the titular Angels alongside Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska.

“We wanted a strong opener, you know?” Stewart said. “We wanted to really like broadcast what the movie was about. It was a good idea at the time. I hated making that movie. I don’t know what else to say to you. Honestly, the three…you can’t touch [that]. Cameron, Lucy and Drew…I love that movie. I love that movie! If that says anything.”

During its theatrical run, the Charlie’s Angels reboot failed to lived up to the original film franchise, as it underperformed at the box office by only earning a gross of over $73 million. The film also received mixed critical reviews.

What is Kristen Stewart’s next movie about?

Following her Oscar-nominated performance in 2021’s Spencer, Stewart is set to star in A24’s crime drama film Love Lies Bleeding which hails from director Rose Glass and writer Weronika Tofilska. Joining Stewart are Katy O’Brian, Jena Malone, Anna Baryshnikov with Dave Franco and Ed Harris. It is executive produced by Daniel Battsek, David Kimbangi, Susan Kirr, and Ollie Madden, with Andrea Cornwell and Oliver Kassman producing.

“The film centers around a reclusive gym manager Lou who falls hard for Jackie, an ambitious bodybuilder headed through town to Vegas in pursuit of her dream,” reads the synopsis. “But their love ignites violence, pulling them deep into the web of Lou’s criminal family.”
