Dario Argento Panico Trailer Emerges for Shudder Documentary

Shudder has revealed the trailer for the documentary Dario Argento Panico by Simone Scafdi, which sees the industry discuss the legendary horror director in a retrospective and personal portrait of the man and his career.

The documentary will feature exclusive interviews with Argento himself, and additional acclaimed directors, including Guillermo del Toro, Gaspar Noé, and Nicolas Winding Refn.

Dario Argento Panico creates a detailed journey through the life and legacy of the legendary Italian filmmaker, revealing his profound impact on horror and his lasting influence on cinema. In the secluded ambiance of hotel rooms, Dario Argento crafted his greatest cinematic creations, seeking solace from the outside world to delve into his nightmares. Now, he finds himself in a hotel room to return to the very setting that ignited his creative fervor to conclude his latest script and participate in an intimate interview, all while being followed by a film crew documenting his life for a movie about his illustrious career.

Dario Argento is one of the most important names in horror, with a career spanning over 50 years. He made a name for himself with The Bird With the Crystal Plumage before slinging out a host of stylish horror classics, including Four Flies on Grey Velvet, Phenomena, and Opera.

From January 31 to February 8. The IFC Center in New York is presenting a theatrical retrospective entitled Panic Attacks: The Films of Dario Argento. the program will feature a sneak preview and the US premiere of Dario Argento Panico, plus screenings of Suspiria, Inferno, Deep Red, and Tenebrae, among other classics from the horror master.

Dario Argento Panico will debut on Shudder on February 2, 2024.
