Back in Action: Cameron Diaz Debunks Rumors About Jamie Foxx’s Behavior

Charlie’s Angels vet Cameron Diaz has addressed recent behind-the-scenes rumors about Jamie Foxx’s behavior on the set of Netflix’s upcoming action comedy Back in Action. In a recent appearance on Lipstick on the Rim podcast (via People), Diaz is finally setting the records straight regarding rumors that Foxx may have reportedly been causing some drama during the production of Back in Action.

Diaz, who has came out of her acting retirement to co-lead the upcoming Netflix movie with Foxx, denied speculations that she was having “heated arguments” with the Oscar-winning actor on the set. Besides debunking the said rumors, the Golden Globe nominee also went on to praise Foxx for being so fun to work with.

“I really hate all of the things that were being said about our set at the time,” Diaz clarified. “You just want to scream at the top of your lungs, like, ‘What are you talking about?’ . . . Jamie is, like, the cheerleader for the entire crew. Everybody loves him. We have so much fun on the set with him and he’s just a professional on every level.”

She added, “Jamie is the best. I love that guy so much. He’s such a special person and he’s so talented, so much fun. The hiccups that happened throughout production are the natural kinds of things that happen. But nothing got delayed other than, obviously, toward the end. And that’s something that is not my place to speak about.”

Jamie Foxx Recovering From “Medical Complication”

Prior to the rumors, Foxx was hospitalized due to an undisclosed “medical complication.” The Spider-Man: No Way Home star is now out of the hospital and is recovering.

“As you can see, the eyes are working, the eyes are working just fine,” Foxx said in his statement. “I’m not paralyzed, but…I went to hell and back, and my road to recovery had some potholes as well. But I’m coming back and I’m able to work…I love everybody and I love all of the love that I got…if you see me out from now on and every once in a while I just burst into tears, it’s just because it’s been tough, man. I was sick, man. But now I got my legs under me, so you’re gonna see me out.”

Back in Action is directed by Horrible Bosses filmmaker Seth Gordon from a screenplay written by Brendan O’Brien. The film will also feature Andrew Scott, Kyle Chandler, Jamie Demetriou, Glenn Close, and more. This marks Diaz’s acting comeback, serving as her first role in nearly a decade after last appearing in the 2014 film adaptation of Broadway musical Annie, which also co-starred Foxx.

It is produced by Chernin Entertainment’s Jenno Topping, Peter Chernin, and Sharla Sumpter Bridgett along with Beau Bauman for Good One Productions and Gordon for Exhibit A. Executive producers are Foxx, Datari Turner, O’Brien, and Tim Lewis.
