Another Jay and Silent Bob Movie in the Works From Kevin Smith

Kevin Smith is currently writing another Jay and Silent Bob movie.

Speaking with PopCulture.com, Smith confirmed that he’s currently working on another Jay and Silent Bob movie for him and Jason Mewes to star in.

“Right now, as we speak, I’m writing another Jay and Silent Bob movie,” Smith said. “For me and Jay, we always kind of have fun doing those and stuff, so I lost a bet with him. And so I’m writing another Jay and Bob movie.”

What Kevin Smith movies have Jay and Silent Bob been in?

Jay and Silent Bob made their on-screen debut in 1994’s Clerks, which was written and directed by Smith. They appeared in several more of Smith’s films — including 1995’s Mallrats, 1997’s Chasing Amy, and 1999’s Dogma — before Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back then released in 2001.

They returned in 2006’s Clerks II before they then got an animated movie, Jay & Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie!, in 2013.

In 2019, Smith and Mewes made Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. Following that, their most recent live-action appearance was in 2022’s Clerks III.

Additionally, Jay and Silent Bob have appeared in various television series (Clerks: The Animated Series), comics, podcasts, and video games. They also made a very brief cameo appearance in 2000’s Scream 3.

Years ago, Smith announced he was also working on a sequel to Mallrats, tentatively titled Twilight of the Mallrats. While the status of the project has been ambiguous since it was announced, Smith said on his podcast in December 2022 when asked what he was currently working on, “I got a bunch of things. For the first few months of the year, I’m just writing. I’ve got a bunch of writing projects for other people, so I’m unfortunately not at liberty to reveal, but some of them are f***in’ wonderful. And that’s a different beast than the stuff that I’d do for myself. What am I most looking forward to? We’re seeing some traction on ‘Mallrats 2.’ ‘Twilight of the Mallrats.’ So fingers crossed, ’cause we heard from the Lionsgate folks they’re very happy with ‘Clerks,’ with the performance of ‘Clerks III.’ Not allowed to say anything else.”
