In a Violent Nature: Shudder’s Ambient Slasher to Get World Premiere at Sundance 2024

Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thrillers, and the supernatural, announced today that the radical third-person slasher In a Violent Nature will World Premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. The debut feature film from writer and director Chris Nash will premiere in the Midnight Section.

In a Violent Nature Details

Nash’s film methodically depicts the enigmatic resurrection, rampage, and retribution of an undead monster in a remote wilderness. The film marks the fifth consecutive year that Shudder has brought films to the Sundance Film Festival, following Jayro Bustamante’s La Llorona, Josh Ruben’s Scare Me, Madeleine Sims-Fewer and Dusty Mancinelli’s Violation, Christian Tafdrup’s Speak No Evil, and Laura Moss’ Birth/Rebirth.

“In a Violent Nature is the culmination of a creative partnership between myself, Chris Nash and fellow producer Shannon Hanmer,” said producer Peter Kuplowsky, who is also the lead programmer for the Toronto International Film Festival’s Midnight Madness section. “We’re ecstatic and thankful that it has led to a collaboration with Shudder, whose support and enthusiasm is extraordinary and humbling. Nash’s vision cuts between the atmospheric creeping dread of Skinamarink and the shocking gore of When Evil Lurks, both Shudder Originals, so this is truly a match made in horror heaven.”

In a Violent Nature is a Shudder Original produced by Shudder, Peter Kuplowsky, and Shannon Hanmer, and will be released in 2024.
