Paramount Pictures has released the official Mean Girls character posters for its upcoming musical reboot of the iconic teen comedy from the 2000s. Each pink poster features a “Plastic is Forever” text, which references Regina and her clique’s name. The film is slated to arrive in theaters on January 12, 2024.
In addition, Paramount Pictures has announced its partnership with Bucket Listers for a special Mean Girls Experience, which will take place on January 19 in New York, and on January 12 in Los Angeles. Fans will be treated to a chance to experience North Shore High School like never before. The Mean Girls Experience will be a fast-casual restaurant of chef driven cafeteria style fare. It will feature a variety of Mean Girl-themed dishes created by Master Chef semi-finalist Chef Becky Brown, including the Burn Book Burger Sliders, the Stab Caesar Salad, and 1 3 5 Acai Bowl. Every ticket comes with a reserved seat and guaranteed window of time to dine.
What is the Mean Girls musical about?
“New student Cady Heron is welcomed into the top of the social food chain by the elite group of popular girls called ‘The Plastics,’ ruled by the conniving queen bee Regina George and her minions Gretchen and Karen,” reads the synopsis. “However, when Cady makes the major misstep of falling for Regina’s ex-boyfriend Aaron Samuels, she finds herself prey in Regina’s crosshairs. Mean Girls is directed by Arturo Perez and Samantha Jayne from a screenplay written by Tina Fey. It is based on Fey’s Broadway musical adaptation of the 2004 movie, which also featured Reneé Rapp as Regina George. It stars Angourie Rice as Cady Heron, Auli’i Cravalho as Janis, Jaquel Spivey as Damian, Jenna Fischer as Ms. Heron, Busy Philipps as Mrs. George, Avantika as Karen, Mahi Alam as Kevin, Christopher Briney as Aaron Samuels, Bebe Wood as Gretchen Wieners, Ashley Park as Madame Park, Connor Ratliff as Mr. Rapp, and Jon Hamm as Coach Carr.
