Psychological Horror Movie The Activated Man Starring Tony Todd Gets Premiere Date

Director Nicholas Gyeney (Beta Test, Ultra Low) and producer Kelsey Aho of Genie Productions have announced that Dances With Films NYC will host the World Premiere of The Activated Man, Gyeney’s deeply personal latest feature.

An Activated Man and His Dog

The mind-bending thriller will activate for its very first audiences on December 3, 2023, at the Regal Union Square as the Closing Night Film of Dances with Films NYC.

As Ors Gabriel (Jamie Costa) struggles with the grief of losing his best friend and beloved dog to cancer, the trauma brings on strange visions only Ors can see. While he questions whether his mind has fractured or if it’s actually real, a mysterious rise in murder-suicides takes hold of the city, and Ors becomes haunted by images of a shadowy figure known as The Fedora Man.

Through torments and terror, Ors must face his fears and confront The Fedora Man as he uncovers dark secrets from his past, while finally embracing who he really is, and what he is meant to do.

The cast is rounded out by genre icons Tony Todd (Candyman), Sean Young (Blade Runner), and four-time Jason Voorhees Kane Hodder, alongside Andrew Keegan (10 Things I Hate About You) and longtime Gyeney collaborator Edward Michael Scott as the villainous Fedora Man.

Gyeney was inspired by the tragic death of his own beloved dog, who he’d rescued from a life of abuse and hardship, for the key plot point of The Activated Man.
