Anyone But You reshoots

Anyone But You Photos Capture Brief Reshoots of Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell Rom-Com

Anyone But You has briefly resumed production to add a few additional “beauty shots” into the Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney-starring romantic comedy.

Per The Sydney Morning Herald, Sweeney and Powell both returned to Australia’s Bondi Beach following the end of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strike on November 9, 2023. The film is directed by Will Gluck, who co-wrote the script with Ilana Wolpert.

“We were hoping that the strike would finish so we could film these extra things we wanted to do,” Gluck said. “We were very excited that it ended in time.”

Regarding the end of the SAG-AFTRA and Writers Guild of America (WGA) strikes, Gluck, who previously directed 2010’s Easy A and 2019’s Peter Rabbit, also said, “I think it’s been a very positive step for labour in general,” he said. “It’s great for both the actors and the writers.”

Fan account Sydney Sweeney fans reposted some photos on Twitter from the reshoots, while Gluck also shared a few on his Instagram, which can be viewed below.

What is Anyone But You about?

“In the edgy comedy Anyone But You, Bea (Sydney Sweeney) and Ben (Glen Powell) look like the perfect couple, but after an amazing first date something happens that turns their fiery hot attraction ice cold – until they find themselves unexpectedly thrust together at a destination wedding in Australia,” the official synopsis reads. “So they do what any two mature adults would do: pretend to be a couple.”

Along with Sweeney and Powell, Anyone But You also stars Alexandra Shipp, GaTa, Hadley Robinson, Michelle Hurd, Dermot Mulroney, Darren Barnet, Rachel Griffiths, Bryan Brown, and Joe Davidson. Gluck produces the film with Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum.

Anyone But You releases in United States theaters on December 22, 2023.
