Eden Cast: Vanessa Kirby & Sydney Sweeney Join Ron Howard’s Survival Thriller

According to Deadline, Oscar nominee Vanessa Kirby and Emmy nominee Sydney Sweeney have been tapped to replace Alicia Vikander and Daisy Edgar-Jones in the upcoming survival thriller titled Eden, which hails from acclaimed director Ron Howard. It’s currently unclear why Vikander and Edgar-Jones exited from the project.

Kirby and Sweeney will be joining previously announced cast members Jude Law, Ana de Armas, and Daniel Bruhl. Both actresses had their breakout roles in television, where Kirby played Princess Margaret in The Crown, and Sweeney gained recognition for portraying Cassie Howard in Euphoria. Prior to Eden, Kirby will first star in Ridley Scott’s upcoming Napoleon movie, while Sweeney will next be seen in the romantic comedy Anyone But You.

What to expect in Eden?

The film “explores the human condition in ways that are unexpected, absurd, humorous, sexy, but above all thrilling and deeply suspenseful,” producers say.

Eden will be directed and produced by Howard from a screenplay he co-wrote with Noah Pink. Howard has been developing the project for over a decade now. In addition, composer Hans Zimmer will be reuniting with Howard for the tenth time. Production is expected to begin in late November in Queensland, Australia.

The film will be based on an unsolved mystery that happened on a remote island in the Galapagos. It is produced by Brian Grazer and Karen Lunder for Imagine Entertainment, Stuart Ford for AGC Studios, Bill Connor, and Patrick Newall.
