Mary Had a Little Lamb Turns Nursery Rhyme Into a Slasher Movie

If Three Blind Mice being turned into an ungodly mix of Evil Dead and The Hills Have Eyes isn’t your kind of thing, then perhaps Mary Had a Little Lamb shaped into a slasher featuring an anthropomorphic killer lamb?

That’s the premise behind Uncork’d Entertainment’s movie of the same name which is indeed loosely based on the nursery rhyme and promises to be a more gruesome alternative version of it than singing ”Mary Had a Little Lamb with Mashed Potato and Gravy”.

President of Uncork’d Entertainment Keith Leopard calls it ”campy and fun, with terrific special and visual effects”.

You can watch the trailer for Mary Had a Little Lamb below.

Its Fleece Was Slick With Blood

The plot of Mary Had a Little Lamb (it still feels weird typing that in this context) sees a radio host and her crew set out to discover the truth behind some disappearances for a true crime show. They will soon learn that there is far more to discover when they meet Mary and her lamb. Who will make it out alive of this house of horrors?

This is the latest wave of twee public domain media being turned into horror movies after the success of low-budget slasher Winnie the Pooh: Blood & Honey, and the upcoming The Mean One, a horror take on The Grinch.

Mary Had a Little Lamb will be released on Digital and DVD on October 3, 2023.
