Jodie Comer Responds to Fantastic Four Casting Rumors

Actress Jodie Comer has been rumored to have been cast in the upcoming Marvel Studios Fantastic Four film for some time. Comer herself has even heard the rumors and recently addressed them in the process.

Speaking during an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Comer revealed she had heard the rumors but, just like fans, doesn’t really know anything about the film or who might be in it.

“I am now, after the last year,” Comer said of the rumors before noting that she had no clue about who was going to be in the film. “No. Guys, I don’t know anything about it. I feel like, when I say this, people are like, ‘Okay.’ It’s like you can’t win either way.”

Comer went on to say that she would “never say never” about being in the film, but as of right now, she is not cast in any role in the upcoming film.

“I think never say never, but right now, no. But I think never say never, right?” said Comer. “I think, as I said before, usually when you finish one project, you then wanna try something very different. So, I don’t know, maybe.”

Currently, almost nothing is known about the upcoming Fantastic Four film, besides rumors that have been floating about for some time. The most recent pegged star Adam Driver as one of the front-runners to play Reed Richards, while other reports have mentioned that Elvis star Austin Butler has been eyed to play the role of Johnny Storm, otherwise known as The Human Torch.

Official casting for the film hasn’t been announced yet, but The Office alum John Krasinski recently made his debut as a variant of Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Marvel’s Fantastic Four comic book series, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, debuted in 1961 and was the first superhero team title produced by Marvel Comics. The film is set to make its debut during Phase 6 of the MCU on February 14, 2025.
