Game of Thrones vet Lena Headey has officially signed on for the leading role in the forthcoming action thriller titled Ballerina Overdrive.

According to Deadline, rising young actresses Yara Shahidi (Grown-ish), Isabela Merced (Father of the Bride), Lana Condor (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before), Millicent Simmonds (A Quiet Place), and Iris Apatow (The Bubble) have also been tapped for the project, which will be produced by Bullet Train director David Leitch through his 87North banner.

Ballerina Overdrive will be directed by Vicky Jewson (The Witcher: Blood Origin) from a screenplay written by Kate Freund. It is being produced by 87North’s Kelly McCormick and and Annie Marter.

“The film centers around a troupe of ballerinas who find themselves fighting for survival as they attempt to escape from a remote inn after their bus breaks down on the way to a dance competition,” reads the synopsis.

Production is expected to begin later this year in Serbia. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stunt designers Heidi Moneymaker and Renae Moneymaker have signed on to create the film’s action choreography, which is expected to be based on ballet dance movements.

Headey is best known for her acclaimed role as Cersei Lannister in Game of Thrones. She is no stranger to the action genre, as she previously starred in movies like Dredd, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and Gunpowder Milkshake.
