Hugh Jackman: Wolverine & Deadpool ‘Hate Each Other’ in Deadpool 3

While speaking to The Empire Film Podcast, Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman went into just what sort of relationship Logan and Deadpool will have in the upcoming sequel Deadpool 3.

Given how different the characters are, it makes sense that they would clash. According to Jackman, however, it goes beyond simple disagreements, with the actor saying the two mutants “hate each other.”

“How do I categorize it? Ten being really close, zero being the reality, we’re zero, we’re opposites, hate each other,” Jackman stated. “I’m just talking from my perspective, [Logan’s] frustrated by him, wants to be a million miles away from him or wants to punch him in the head. Unfortunately, he can’t be a million miles away from him in this movie, so I’m probably going to punch him in the head a lot.”

Deadpool 3 is being written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick from a previous draft by Bob’s Burgers duo Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige previously assured fans that it will remain an R-rated film — just like the first two movies, which would make it the studio’s first movie with said mature rating.

It will serve as the first movie in the Deadpool film series to be released following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. The film is currently scheduled to release on November 8, 2024.

The first two Deadpool films are both box-office successes, as they earned a combined worldwide gross of over $1.5 billion. They were both written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, with the first one directed by Tim Miller and Deadpool 2 directed by David Leitch.
