Avengers: Secret Wars will no longer be released in 2025.
Marvel announced today that the Avengers: Secret Wars release date has been delayed from its original date of November 7, 2025. It will now release the next year on May 1, 2026. The news comes after several other changes to the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, such as Deadpool 3 being delayed and Blade being put on pause.
Secret Wars is the sixth installment to the blockbuster Avengers films. It is expected to conclude Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 6 and The Multiverse Saga. Fans have long been awaiting news of a potential live-action adaptation of the iconic comic book series, which sees various Marvel heroes and villains being taken by a cosmic entity known as The Beyonder, where they then fight it out on a planet called Battleworld.
Unlike Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, Secret Wars currently has no director attached to it yet. Following The Kang Dynasty‘s theatrical debut on May 2, 2025, it will shortly be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on November 7, 2025.
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will be directed by Shang-Chi filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay written by Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania writer Jeff Loveness. Cretton is also currently working with Marvel Studios on its live-action series adaptation of Wonder Man.
