Haunted Mansion Release Date Delayed 5 Months by Disney

Disney’s upcoming Haunted Mansion film will see its release date shifted back five months, with the film now set to premiere on August 11, 2023.

The film’s new date comes amidst a ton of shifting dates from Disney and sees its premiere pushed back to the tail end of summer, where Disney likely hopes to see it gain a boost in audience members as a result. The original release date for the film was March 10, 2023.

Starring Jared Leto, Jamie Lee Curtis, Winona Ryder, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Tiffany Haddish, LaKeith Stanfield, and Hasan Minhaj, Haunted Mansion‘s plot details are currently unknown. However, Stanfield will reportedly play a widower who once believed in the supernatural but is now a rather lifeless tour guide in New Orleans’s French Quarter. Meanwhile, Haddish will portray a psychic hired to commune with the dead.

Haunted Mansion will be directed by Justin Simien (Dear White People) from a screenplay written by Katie Dippold (Parks and Recreation). It is being produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich (Aladdin) of Rideback. Rideback’s Nick Reynolds will serve as executive producer.

The titular theme park was first adapted into the 2003 film which starred Eddie Murphy as a workaholic realtor who along with his family gets trapped inside a mansion inhabited by ghosts.
