Acclaimed actor James Caan has passed away at the age of 82.
James Caan’s Twitter account confirmed that the Godfather actor passed away on Wednesday evening, noting that the Caan family appreciates the support and condolences offered by fans. Caan’s most recent acting roles were in the film Queen Bees and the television film JL Ranch: The Wedding Gift.
Caan’s most famous role was that of Sonny Corleone, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. Caan would also play novelist Paul Sheldon in Misery, for which he was nominated for a Saturn Award, and Buddy the Elf’s stoic father Walter in Elf, among countless other roles.
