Madame Web: Sydney Sweeney Talks Working on Her First Marvel Film

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney has once again opened up about joining Sony Pictures’ next Marvel film, Madame Web. Sweeney describes landing her mysterious role as a complete dream come true, especially when she has been a fan of the genre for a long time.

“I grew up watching Marvel movies, and superheroes are just the coolest thing ever,” Sweeney shared. “So I just dreamt of being able to be a part of something bigger than life itself. And that’s what I feel like I’m getting to be a part of with Madame Web.”

Sony’s Madame Web will be led by Dakota Johnson as the titular Spider-Man character. Joining Johnson are young actresses Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria), Celeste O’Connor (Ghostbusters: Afterlife), and Isabela Merced (Transformers: The Last Knight) along with Golden Globe nominee Tahar Rahim.

Created by writer Denny O’Neil and artist John Romita Jr. in 1980, Madame Web is a blind psychic that has become a major player in the world of Spider-Man due to her ties to “The Great Web,” a multiversal construct that ties all “Spider” characters together across the multiverse.
