Rosamund Pike to Lead Emerald Fennell’s Next Directorial Feature

It has been more than a year since the theatrical release of Promising Young Woman, and Oscar winner Emerald Fennell has finally found her next directorial feature, with Oscar nominee Rosamund Pike attached for the leading role.

According to Deadline, Fennell will be directing a film titled Saltburn, which will center around a grand aristocratic English family. Further details about the project are still being kept under wraps, but production is expected to begin later this year.

Fennell gained recognition for her feature-length directorial debut Promising Young Woman, which was led by Carey Mulligan. For her work in the 2020 film, The Crown alum won an Academy Awards for Best Original Screenplay out of three nominations. She is currently in production for Greta Gerwig’s live-action Barbie film.

Pike is best known for her acclaimed performance in David Fincher’s 2014 psychological thriller Gone Girl, which earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. For her performance in the black comedy thriller I Care a Lot, she won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy.  She will next be seen in the upcoming second season of Prime Video’s fantasy series The Wheel of Time.
