During a recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast with Josh Horowitz, Jackson spoke about his role in the Star Wars prequels, and said that despite what looked to be a relatively definitive ending for the Jedi, he still believes it could happen.

“There’s a huge history of people with one hand returning in the Star Wars franchise,” Jackson said, before confirming that he has talked with actor and director Bryce Dallas Howard — who has directed episodes of The Mandalorian — about a return. “The only person I’ve ever said that to about coming back was Bryce Dallas Howard, ’cause I just did a movie with her. And she directs episodes of The Mandalorian.”

Jackson then joked about his conversation with Howard, saying that he asked her if she could “hook him up” and that he would even learn how to use a lightsaber with his left hand. “You think you might be able to hook a brother up? I mean you like me, right?” Jackson joked. “I’ll learn to lightsaber left-handed. Come on, hook me up.”

Jackson’s role as Windu was one of a handful of things that many fans of Star Wars liked about the prequel trilogy. It was even previously rumored that Jackson would appear in a prequel series about the Jedi Master for Disney+, but as of now nothing has been confirmed or announced.
