Ezra Miller Denies Rumors That The Flash Will Erase Snyderverse

Recently, rumors have begun to pop up that seem to suggest that Warner Bros.’ upcoming The Flash film would be essentially retconning the previous DC Extended Universe films, and thus erasing the “Snyderverse.” According to The Flash star Ezra Miller, though, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

According to a recent Reddit post, Miller replied to the direct messages of a fan expressing concern that the upcoming film would be “erasing Zack’s movies.” In his response, Miller explicitly denied that from happening. “No power or force in any known megaverse would or could ever erase Zack Snyder’s mighty wrkz,” said Miller. “You can take that quote. Take that to the bank, to the press, to the schools, to the military, and the other pillar of capitalism I’m forgetting cause of that thing where if you try to think of a group of things you always forget one of them.”

The recent rumors began popping up late last week, and point to the fact that Micheal Keaton will be reprising his iconic role as Batman in both The Flash and Batgirl. When combined with other rumors that Ben Affleck’s Batman and Henry Cavill’s Superman would appear in The Flash, many began to take it as a sign that Warner Bros. was looking to move on from the Zack Snyder era of superhero films.

While that remains to be seen, it looks as if fans may have been a bit premature in their worry. It’s possible that Miller could be misspeaking in his reply,  though, so fans won’t know for sure until later this year when The Flash hits theaters.

The long-in-development The Flash movie sees the return of Ezra Miller as the DCEU’s Scarlet Speedster/ Barry Allen, who he first portrayed in Batman v Superman: Dawn of JusticeJustice League, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. He also played the hero in a cameo appearance on The CW’s Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event, where he got to meet Grant Gustin’s version of Barry Allen.

Joining Miller are Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Sasha Calle as Supergirl, and Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, along with Keaton and Ben Affleck who are reprising their respective versions of Bruce Wayne/Batman for the film.
