Tobin Bell & Jeremy Irons Leading Horror Film Cello From Spiral Director

According to Deadline, Oscar winner Jeremy Irons (Reversal of Fortune) and Saw vet Tobin Bell have signed on to star in an English-Arabic-language horror film titled Cello, which hails from director Darren Lynn Bousman. The project marks the reunion between Bell and Bousman, after previously working together in three Saw films from 2005-2007.

“I have been blessed to have many adventures in my filmmaking career,” Bousman said in a statement. “None have compared to the production of Cello. I was able to traverse the globe, and work with an international cast and crew. I am excited for the world to see this terrifying tale from the mind of Turki Al Alshikh and am humbled to have had a small part in its creation.”

Cello is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman from a screenplay written by Turki Al Alshikh, based on his novel. The film will center around an aspiring cellist as he finds out that the cost of his brand-new cello is a lot more insidious than he first thought.

Joining Irons and Bell are Syrian actor Samer Ismail (The Day I Lost My Shadow) and Saudi actress Elham Ali (Ashman). Production on the project has already wrapped which was shot on location in Saudi Arabia and Czech Republic.

Bousman is no stranger to the horror genre and to franchise-building as he previously directed Saw II, Saw III, and Saw IV. He is also coming off from directing Lionsgate’s latest installment Spiral: From the Book of Saw. He also directed other non-Saw horror films such as Mother’s Day, 11-11-11, The Barrens, and Death of Me.
