Venom: Let There Be Carnage Receives PG-13 Rating, Gets New Poster

According to Film Ratings, Sony Pictures’ long-awaited sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage has officially been given a PG-13 rating from the MPAA for “intense sequences of violence and action, some strong language, disturbing material, and suggestive references.” In addition, a brand new poster has also been revealed which you can check out below, featuring the main cast with Tom Hardy in the middle of the two titular symbiotes.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the film has been delayed several times, and was actually pushed back last month to a later 2021 date. Original set for a September release, the Venom sequel is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 15.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage sees the return of Tom Hardy as the lethal protector Venom, one of Marvel’s most complex characters. It is directed by Andy Serkis from a screenplay written by Kelly Marcel, based on a story by Hardy and Marcel.

The sequel will also feature the returning cast members are Michelle Williams, Reid Scott, and Peggy Lu. It will also introduce Woody Harrelson as the maniacal serial killer Cletus Kasady/Carnage,  Naomie Harris as Frances Barrison/Shriek, and Stephen Graham as Detective Mulligan.

Based on the Marvel character created by Randy Schueller, Roger Stern, Tom DeFalco, Mike Zeck, and Ron Frenz, Venom: Let There Be Carnage is being produced by Hardy, Marcel, Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker.

Since its debut in 2018, Venom was directed by Ruben Fleischer. It also starred Riz Ahmed as Carlton Drake/Riot. Despite receiving negative reviews from critics, the film had still earned a worldwide gross of over $800 million.
