Needle in a Timestack Poster & Photos Offer First Look at John Ridley’s Sci-Fi Adaptation

Lionsgate has released the official poster and new photos, available in the gallery below, from Oscar-winning filmmaker John Ridley’s (12 Years a Slave, American Crime) upcoming sci-fi movie adaptation Needle in a Timestack, based on the short story of the same name by Robert Silverberg.

The film stars Oscar nominees Leslie Odom Jr. (One Night in Miami…, Hamilton) and Cynthia Erivo (Harriet, Genius), along with Orlando Bloom (The Lord of the Rings franchise, Carnival Row), BAFTA nominee Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire, Hillbilly Elegy), and Jadyn Wong (Scorpion, Cosmopolis).

“If love is in the form of a circle, what lines would you cross to be with your soulmate?” asks the official synopsis. “In this gripping, near-future love story directed by Oscar winner John Ridley, Nick and Janine (Odom, Jr., Erivo) live in marital bliss, until Janine’s ex-husband (Bloom) warps time to try to tear them apart using Nick’s college girlfriend (Pinto). As Nick’s memories and reality disappear, he must decide what he’s willing to sacrifice in order to hold onto — or let go of — everything he loves. Can love endure in a future where time is fluid, and all of life may be just an illusion?”

The movie will have its Digital, On Demand, and limited theatrical release on October 15, 2021, followed by the Blu-ray and DVD release on October 19, 2021.

Needle in a Timestack is produced by Zanne Devine, Aaron L. Gilbert, Matt Kennedy, and David Thwaites. Ridley executive produces along with Adhrucia Apana, Jason Cloth, Chris Conover, Hope Rieser Farley, Richard McConnell, Per Melita, Matthias Mellinghaus, and Anjay Nagpal.
