Dwayne Johnson Laughs at Vin Diesel’s ‘Tough Love’ Comments, Won’t Return to Fast Series

Vin Diesel and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson have had a well-documented and famous feud with each other over the past couple of years. After Diesel attributed the feud to “tough love,” Johnson recently rebutted, and it doesn’t sound like the two will be meeting up as friends any time soon.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Johnson was asked if he had seen Diesel’s comments, which basically boiled the feud down to Diesel claiming his approach was a lot of “tough love” in order to assist in getting a good performance from Johnson during his time in the Fast & Furious series. Johnson said that when he heard those comments, he simply laughed.

“I laughed and I laughed hard. I think everyone had a laugh at that. And I’ll leave it at that. And that I’ve wished them well,” Johnson said, before essentially confirming that he wouldn’t be showing up in any future Fast & Furious films. “I wish them well on Fast 9. And I wish them the best of luck on Fast 10 and Fast 11 and the rest of the Fast & Furious movies they do that will be without me.”

Emily Blunt, Johnson’s castmate in the upcoming Jungle Cruise film, also chimed in during the interview, jokingly thanking God that Diesel was there for Johnson. “Just thank God he was there,” she says of Diesel. “Thank God. He carried you through that.” “Felliniesque,” Johnson replied.

From the sounds of it, it seems like Diesel and Johnson are no closer to settling any of their issues than they were when Diesel initially spoke on things. Of course, time can change anything, but at least right now it feels like a safe bet that Johnson will be steering clear of any Fast & Furious films with Diesel in them.
