Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho Release Gets Pushed Back

Focus Features has slightly delayed the release date for Edgar Wright’s highly-anticipated psychological thriller Last Night in Soho. Originally scheduled for an October 22, 2021 release, the film has officially been pushed back a week later and is now slated to arrive in theaters on Friday, October 29, 2021, just two days before this year’s Halloween. Its new premiere date will see the Anya Taylor-Joy-led film going up against another horror feature in the form of Searchlight Pictures’ Guillermo del Toro-produced movie Antlers.

Described as in the same vein as Don’t Look Now and Roman Polanski’s Repulsion, the psychological thriller centers around a young girl, passionate in fashion design, who is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters her idol, a dazzling wannabe singer. But 1960s London is not what it appears, and time seems to fall apart with shady consequences…

Last Night in Soho will be led by Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie (Leave No Trace, Jojo Rabbit) as Eloise, Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Gambit), and Matt Smith (The Crown). It will also feature Rita Tushingham, Terence Stamp, Jessie Mei Li, Michael Ajao, Synnøve Karlsen, Lisa McGrills, Margaret Nolan, and the late veteran actress Diana Rigg in her final film following her death in September of 2020 at the age of 82.
