Kevin Spacey Set to Star in Italian Film The Man Who Drew God

After nearly three years of being off-screen, Kevin Spacey is set to star in the Italian film L’uomo Che Disegno Dio or, for English-speaking audiences, The Man Who Drew God.

According to ABC News, the film will be directed by Franco Nero. Starring alongside Spacey will be Vanessa Redgrave, Nero’s wife. The Man Who Drew God will be filmed in Italy. Nero did express his excitement for Spacey’s involvement with his upcoming film.

“I’m very happy Kevin agreed to participate in my film,” says Nero. “I consider him a great actor, and I can’t wait to start the movie.”

Spacey has not commented about the role as of yet.

Back in 2017, Spacey was accused of sexual misconduct by at least 20 young men between 1995 and 2013 at London’s Old Vic theater. The allegations led Netflix and Spacey to part ways, as he starred in the critically acclaimed TV series House of Cards. Additionally, the streamer had halted the release of the Gore Vidal biopic Gore, which the two-time Oscar-winning actor was to star in. According to The Associated Press, it is not certain if Spacey will face any criminal charges for the accusations.

In 2018, Spacey was also charged with indecent assault with a teenager from Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, in 2016. The actor plead not guilty, and the charge was later dropped.

Spacey’s last big-screen appearance was in the 2018 film Billionaire Boys Club. It grossed a total of $2.7 million worldwide and only $1,349 in North America.
