An untitled thriller set during the pandemic penned by Scream writer Kevin Williamson has been greenlit by Miramax. Actor Gideon Adlon is set to star in the upcoming film.
According to Deadline, the untitled feature will be set during the pandemic as the country begins to lockdown. A college student named Parker (Adlon) and her best friend decide to quarantine at her family lake house. They went alone, but it seems they may encounter some unwanted visitors.
John Hyams is set to direct the Williamson and Katelyn Crabb written screenplay. The original story is written by Williamson. Along will Williamson, Miramax CEO Bill Block and Ben Fast will produce the pandemic thriller.
“Williamson and Crabb have written a story that intertwines the palpable fear we’ve all experienced over the past year and merged that with their ability to skillfully amplify our unconscious anxieties by utilizing the horror genre,” says Block. “With Hyams attached to direct, we know that this film is destined to become a fan favorite.”
Hyams is the co-creator and showrunner of the Netflix TV series Black Summer, which has a second season scheduled for a June release. He has also worked on projects such as Z Nation, Chicago P.D., Chicago Fire, and The Originals.
