Sylvester Stallone reveals whether he’ll return for Creed III
While he’s currently developing another film for him to star as the iconic boxer, three-time Oscar nominee Sylvester Stallone did state upon the release of Creed II that he would not be reprising the role of Rocky Balboa in any future projects though with a new Creed film in the works, it was up in the air whether he would return for the threequel. But now, in response to a comment on his Instagram, Stallone has confirmed that he is not coming back for the latest installment in the sequel series. (Via JoBlo)
Plot details are still unknown for the next Michael B. Jordan-starring and directed installment, though it is known that the script is being penned by Keenan Coogler (Space Jam: A New Legacy) and Zach Baylin (King Richard) on a story outline from original co-writer/director Ryan Coogler (Black Panther).
The project is being produced by franchise producer Charles Winkler, William Chartoff and David Winkler via Chartoff-Winkler Productions in association with Proximity Media alongside Jonathan Glickman, Jordan and Coogler, while Adam Rosenberg, Sev Ohanian and Zinzi Coogler are all set as executive producers.
Creed II released back in 2018 to great reviews from critics, currently maintaining an 83 percent “Certified Fresh” rating from critics on review aggregate Rotten Tomatoes and a worldwide box office take of over $214 million, which was a marked increase over the original’s $173 million take.
