Guy Ritchie’s Jason Statham-Led Action Wrath of Man Sets Release Date
According to Collider, MGM has finally set the release date for director Guy Ritchie’s latest action thriller film with Jason Statham titled Wrath of Man. Originally scheduled for a January 2021 release, the film has now been scheduled to make its debut on Friday, April 23. The new release date sees the film going up against no direct competition. However, it will still debut a week later than Warner Bros.’ highly-anticipated new live-action Mortal Kombat.
Based on the 2004 French film titled Le Convoyeur or Cash Truck, the film will follow H, a cold and mysterious character working at a cash truck company responsible for moving hundreds of millions of dollars around Los Angeles each week. Weaving through a suspenseful and carefully constructed narrative, the film shifts across timelines and between various characters’ perspectives for a thrilling and mind-bending experience.
Wrath of Man stars Jason Statham, Josh Hartnett, Scott Eastwood, Holt McCallany, Jeffrey Donovan, Laz Alonso, Raul Castillo, Niamh Algar, and Post Malone. Both Statham and Hartnett are currently filming together for Ritchie’s upcoming global spy film Five Eyes.
Wrath of Man is written and directed by Guy Ritchie. This project marks the latest collaboration between Ritchie and Statham, who have previously worked together on Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, and Revolver.
The film is produced by Ivan Atkinson, Bill Block and Andrew Golov. Miramax acquired remake rights to the 2004 original French movie Le Convoyeur from StudioCanal for the project.
