Bad Bloom: Vera Farmiga to Star in New Horror Film From Bryce McGuire

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar nominee Vera Farmiga has officially signed on for the leading role in Bryce McGuire’s upcoming feature-length directorial debut titled Bad Bloom which is being described as a horror fairytale. On top of starring, Farming will also be serving as a producer.

Bad Bloom is a horror fairytale that is set to portray a family living in isolation on a remote island to keep an unknown creature at bay. Their tightly-guarded reality begins to unravel when one of the children learns the monster they feared is not the monster they envisioned.

The film will be produced by Jon Rubinstein and Galt Niederhoffer through their Authentic Management Productions along with Ruminant Films’ Renn Hawkey. Production is expected to begin later this year.

Vera Farmiga gained worldwide recognition for her role as Lorraine Warren in James Wan’s the Conjuring Universe films which had already earned a combined worldwide gross of more than $1.2 billion. Her other notable films include: Down to the Bone, Nothing But the Truth, Up in the Air, Higher Ground, Orphan, and Source Code. She will next be seen in the upcoming threequel The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.
