Uma Thurman is set to join the previously-attached Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart for American Ultra, says a story today at The Hollywood Reporter. Project X helmer Nima Nourizadeh is attached to direct.
American Ultra, scripted by Chronicle scribe Max Landis, follows Mike, a young stoner who, alongside his girlfriend, Phoebe (Stewart) becomes targeted by a top secret government operation. Thurman will one of those behind the operation, which has created secret “sleeper warriors.”
Set to begin production next month, American Ultra is produced by Likely Story’s Anthony Bregman and by Circle of Confusion’s David Alpert and Britton Rizzio. PalmStar Media Capital’s Kevin Frakes and Merced Media Partners’ Raj Brinder Singh are serving as executive producers.
