Wonder Woman 1984 Release Date Might Shift Again

Wonder Woman 1984 might change its October release to a later date

With less than a month left before the scheduled release of Wonder Woman 1984, Deadline brings word that Warner Bros. Pictures are still considering to push back the theatrical release of the Gal Gadot-led DC sequel to a later month, either on November or to late December. The outlet’s exhibition sources noted that the studio’s potential decision is due to Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, which is still set to be released in New York and Los Angeles theaters when they’ve finally been allowed to reopen again.

Should Warner Bros. decide to change the Wonder Woman 1984 release date, they won’t have any other choice but to move Legendary’s Dune remake to 2021. This news is actually in line with what WarnerMedia CFO John Stephens had previously said last month about the studio’s anticipation for more potential delays down the line.

Fast forward to the 1980s as Wonder Woman’s next big screen adventure finds her facing two all-new foes: Max Lord and The Cheetah. With director Patty Jenkins back at the helm and Gal Gadot returning in the title role, Wonder Woman 1984 is Warner Bros. Pictures’ follow up to the DC Super Hero’s first outing, 2017’s record-breaking Wonder Woman.

The film also stars Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as The Cheetah, Pedro Pascal as Max Lord, Robin Wright as Antiope, and Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta. Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins, Gal Gadot and Stephen Jones are producing the film. Rebecca Steel Roven Oakley, Richard Suckle, Marianne Jenkins, Geoff Johns, Walter Hamada, Chantal Nong Vo and Wesley Coller are the executive producers. Patty Jenkins directed from a screenplay she wrote with Geoff Johns & David Callaham, story by Jenkins & Johns, based on characters from DC.
