Dune: Zendaya Hypes Up Film’s ‘Incredible’ First Trailer

In a recent interview with InStyle, Spider-Man: Far From Home star Zendaya has confirmed that she has indeed watched the first trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s highly-anticipated remake of Dune, which is reportedly set to play in front of the special re-release screenings for Christopher Nolan’s Inception. The 23-year-old actress, who recently earned her first Emmy nomination for her performance in HBO’s Euphoria, had also expressed her excitement of being a part of an “incredible” film despite only having limited screen time.

“’Dune’ was incredible. I wasn’t in it very much, so when I was watching the trailer, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh!’ I called Timothée [Chalamet, who stars in it] and said, ‘Dude! You should be proud.’ It is a big deal to even be a small part of something with such a massive cast. And I love sci-fi stuff too. It’s fun to escape into another world.” Zendaya shared.

The star-studded cast includes Timothée Chalamet (Call Me By Your Name), Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible — Fallout) and Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) in leading roles. The film will also feature Zendaya (Spider-Man: Far From Home) Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy), Javier Bardem (No Country For Old Men), Stellan Skarsgard (Thor: The Dark World), Charlotte Rampling (The Night Porter) and Josh Brolin (Avengers: Endgame).

Villeneuve is best known for directing Blade Runner 2049 as well as Sicario. Though Dune will likely resemble the former film more than the latter, both display the sort of experience directing arid, desolate locales that a fan would want in their Dune director, considering a sizable chunk of the story takes place on a desert planet.
