Alden Ehrenreich Teases Possible Solo Return

Solo: A Star Wars Story flopped at the box office, which meant a sequel that would explore some of the films’ cliffhangers — particularly that Darth Maul cameo — was unlikely to happen. Yet, in a recent interview with Esquire, the film’s star Alden Ehrenreich teased a possible return for Han Solo in some capacity.

“I’ve heard sooooome stuff,” he said, “but nothing concrete.”

Ok. That’s not much to go on, but it is something. In the same interview, Ehrenreich discussed his three-year hiatus away from the public eye following Solo‘s release.

“[It] was basically a three-year experience from pre-production to the release of the movie,” he explains. “And I just wanted to be a person, connect with people in my life, spend time and develop as a person outside of those worlds. And then you never know.”

He also said he would be willing to come back if “it feels innate to the story,” but also revealed he has yet to see either The Rise of Skywalker or The Mandalorian.

“No, I don’t know anything about that. I mean, you know, I think our movie was kind of the last of the conventional-era Star Wars movie release time.”

Solo was a good Star Wars movie, but not a great one. Although, it planted some pretty cool seeds for future exploration. Hopefully we can see some of those seeds blossom into something unique in some way shape or form. Haven’t seen Solo: A Star Wars Story yet? Check out Amazon’s collection of DVDs here.
