Chris Pine Talks Wonder Woman 1984

While we wait for Wonder Woman 1984 to finally hit theaters after a number of release date changes, the cast and crew have been busy promoting the film nonstop. Chris Pine recently opened up about the film with Total Film, dropping a few details about Steve Trevor’s current state following his apparent resurrection.

“What I will say about him is that he’s deeply, supremely excited,” Pine explained. “He’s excited to be back with Diana. He’s excited about this world. Tonally, what’s different is, he’s not world-weary. He’s not jaded. It’s a complete 180 from the tone of the character of the first one.”

While Pine couldn’t discuss too many specifics regarding the plot, he did mention that he thought it was “a brilliant move on [director] Patty [Jenkins’] part” to make Steve the fish-out-of-water this time. And he also revealed that he had a feeling he would return while filming the first Wonder Woman. “Patty, towards the end of the first one, had been marinating on an idea,” Pine said. “So yeah, I had an idea that I would come back. I think she may have even started to break the story while we were promoting [the first film].”
