Disney+’s Secret Society of Second-Born Royals premiere gets pushed back

Disney+ has announced that they have decided to change the premiere date for their upcoming fantasy superhero film titled Secret Society of Second-Born Royals. Originally scheduled for a July 17, 2020 debut, the Peyton Elizabeth Lee-led film has now been pushed back to Friday, September 25, 2020, over two months after its previously scheduled release.

Secret Society of Second-Born Royals follows Sam, a teenage royal rebel second in line to the throne of the kingdom of Illyria. Just as Sam’s disinterest in the royal way of life is at an all-time high, she discovers she has super-human abilities and is invited to join a secret society of similar extraordinary second-born royals charged with keeping the world safe. With guidance from their Secret Society instructor James, Sam and a new class of royal recruits must first learn to harness their new powers at a top-secret training camp before they can save the world.

The film stars Peyton Elizabeth Lee (Andi Mack) as Sam, Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect films) as Professor James Morrow, Elodie Yung (Gods of Egypt, Daredevil) as Catherine, Niles Fitch (This Is Us) as Tuma, Ashley Liao (Fuller House) as Eleanor, Isabella Blake-Thomas (Once Upon a Time) as January, Faly Rokotohavana as Matteo, and Olivia Deeble (Home and Away) as Roxana.

Secret Society of Second-Born Royals is directed by Anna Mastro from a script written by Alex Livak and Andrew Green which is based on an original story by Litvak, Green and Austin Winsberg. The film is produced by Zanne Devine, Mike Karz and Winsberg.
