Written by C. Robert Cargill (Doctor Strange) and directed by Amber Sealey (A Plus D), the film will be set primarily in a single interrogation room and based on the transcripts from conversations between FBI analyst Bill Hagmaier (Wood) and Bundy that took place between 1984 and 1989 and will chronicle the complicated relationship the two developed during the serial killer’s final years on death row.

Wood will also be producing the film alongside SpectreVision co-founder and production partner Daniel Noah, Lisa Whalen and Kim Sherman, with Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange), Hagmaier, Stacy Jorgensen and Mark Ward attached as executive producers.

The film will be presented at next week’s virtual Cannes market by XYZ Films, who are handling international sales along with Run Rabbit Run starring Elisabeth Moss (The Invisible Man) and Dual starring Karen Gillan (Jumanji: The Next Level), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) and Jesse Eisenberg (Vivarium).

No Man of God marks a reunion for Wood and XYZ after the production company helped finance the acclaimed Netflix thriller I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore, in which Wood starred alongside Melanie Lynskey (Castle Rock), and last year’s adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s Color Out of Space, which Wood produced through his SpectreVision banner while XYZ handled the international rights sales.
