Worst Man: Pete Davidson & Colin Jost to Star in Universal’s Wedding Comedy Film

Following the most recent release of The King of Staten Island, Variety reports that Pete Davidson is setting up his next movie project as he officially signs on with fellow Saturday Night Live cast member Colin Jost for the leading roles in Universal Pictures’ forthcoming wedding comedy film titled Worst Man. This marks Jost’s first major film project after appearing in the comedy films Staten Island Summer and How to Be Single.

Based on an original idea written by Josh, Matthew Bass, and Theodore Bressman, Worst Man will follow the story of a soon-to-be-married couple and the family dramatics that ensue just weeks before the wedding. According to the outlet, the studio is already trying to search for a director to helm the film.

The film will be produced by SNL creator Lorne Michaels with Erik Baiers, who is Universal’s senior executive vice president of production, set to oversee on behalf of the studio.

Davidson and Jost both joined the SNL cast in 2014 and have frequently worked together on Jost and Michael Che’s Weekend Update segment. Davidson has recently been enjoying a steady rise in his acting career after starring in this year’s Big Time Adolescence and Judd Apatow’s The King of Staten Island. He will next be seen in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad which is set to premiere on August 6, 2021.
