Jesse Eisenberg Down to Reprise Lex Luther Role

The Snyder-verse has all but fallen to pieces, but the occasional remnants of that past would-be cinematic universe continue to pop up time and again. In this case, actor Jesse Eisenberg, who portrayed the villainous Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (and, to a lesser extent, in a post-credit Justice League scene), revealed his desire to shave his head once more for another go at the character. “Oh yeah, I would love to, because it’s such a cool character,” Eisenberg said. “To play a villain in a superhero movie is the fun part. The good guys are fine, but the villains is the fun part because they get to be a little bit more flamboyant. Of course, the hero gets to, you know, survive. But the villain has all the funny lines. I don’t know about the first part, but the second part is something that I could definitely be involved in, sure.”

As someone who quite enjoyed Zack Snyder’s comic book vision, and Eisenberg’s performance within it, I would happily welcome another dose of Lex Luthor. The Lex seen in BvS was a far cry from the one we know in the comics, but he was nonetheless a unique character with some truly bizarre characteristics. It’s a shame we’ll likely never see more of him.

In the meantime, Eisenberg has appeared in films such as The Art of Self-Defense, Zombieland: Double Tap and Resistance.
