Jesse Eisenberg Down to Reprise Lex Luther Role
The Snyder-verse has all but fallen to pieces, but the occasional remnants of that past would-be cinematic universe continue to pop up time and again. In this case, actor Jesse Eisenberg, who portrayed the villainous Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (and, to a lesser extent, in a post-credit Justice League scene), revealed his desire to shave his head once more for another go at the character. You can check out the full interview with InThePanda in the player below.
“Oh yeah, I would love to, because it’s such a cool character,” Eisenberg said. “To play a villain in a superhero movie is the fun part. The good guys are fine, but the villains is the fun part because they get to be a little bit more flamboyant. Of course, the hero gets to, you know, survive. But the villain has all the funny lines. I don’t know about the first part, but the second part is something that I could definitely be involved in, sure.”
As someone who quite enjoyed Zack Snyder’s comic book vision, and Eisenberg’s performance within it, I would happily welcome another dose of Lex Luthor. The Lex seen in BvS was a far cry from the one we know in the comics, but he was nonetheless a unique character with some truly bizarre characteristics. It’s a shame we’ll likely never see more of him.
In the meantime, Eisenberg has appeared in films such as The Art of Self-Defense, Zombieland: Double Tap and Resistance.
