Samuel L. Jackson in Talks for David Yates’ Tarzan Reboot

Variety is reporting that veteran actor Samuel L. Jackson is currently in talks to join Alexander Skarsgard in Warner Bros.’ reboot of Tarzan, directed by David Yates (“Harry Potter”).

Produced by Jerry Weintraub and Alan Riche and exec. produced by Yates and Mike Richardson, not a lot is known about this new interpretation of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ jungle-faring pulp hero, including what role Jackson might be up for, but the project has been struggling to get a green light for some time, which forced Jamie Foxx to pass on the role.

Yates finally put together a five-minute revisualization presentation to present to Warner Bros. so they can understand how the movie would work, which got the project greenlit and moving forward.

The next piece of the puzzle is casting Tarzan’s cultured love interest Jane, and the Variety article mentions that The Wolf of Wall Street‘s Margot Robbie is under consideration, although she doesn’t have an offer yet, while Christoph Waltz is also already confirmed as part of the cast.
