Bruno Mars to Star in Disney’s New Music-Themed Movie

According to Deadline, Grammy-winning worldwide performer Bruno Mars has signed on to star and produce in his first leading role in Disney‘s new untitled music-themed film which will feature original music created by the “Finesse” singer. Further details about the feature’s plot are still being kept under wraps.

The untitled music-driven feature will be Bruno Mars’ first major film role after almost 28 years since making an appearance as Little Elvis in Andrew Bergman’s 1992 comedy film Honeymoon in Vegas which starred Nicolas Cage and Sarah Jessica Parker. Bruno Mars was also part of the star-studded voice cast of Blue Sky Studios’ Rio 2.

The outlet notes that it was Walt Disney Studios production president Sean Bailey who is the one responsible for making the deal a reality as he had long discussions for months with Bruno Mars and Mitchell Leib, Walt Disney Studios’ president of music and soundtracks.

Bruno Mars first gained recognition in 2010 when he launched his debut studio album Doo-Wops & Hooligans which featured many of his hits songs such as “Grenade,” “The Lazy Song,” and “Just the Way You Are.” The latter earned him his first Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. Since then, the Hawaii-born singer-songwriter has released two more award-wining albums consists of Unorthodox Jukebox and 24K Magic. After 10 years, 11 Grammy Awards, 3 sold-out world tours, and millions of sold singles later, Bruno Mars how now become a worldwide sensation, who continues to produce memorable songs.
