Simon Pegg Confirms That He’ll Return for Mission: Impossible 5

With the Christopher McQuarrie-helmed Mission: Impossible 5 now officially set for release on December 25, 2015, the time has come for the sequel’s cast to begin to assemble. While promoting the Blu-ray release of his latest, The World’s End, Simon Pegg confirmed to MTV that he’ll be reprising his role as Benji Dunn opposite Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt.

“Yes, absolutely,” Pegg told the outlet when asked if he’d be back. “I’m looking forward to that. I’ve already started eating one carrot a day in order to be in shape.”

The Dunn character made his debut in J.J. Abrams’ Mission: Impossible III and returned for Brad Bird’s Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.

Mission: Impossible 5 features a screenplay by Iron Man 3 scribe Drew Pearce with Cruise producing through his Tom Cruise Productions alongside Abrams’ Bad Robot and Paramount Pictures. Skydance Productions, who served as co-financers and executive producers on the last installment, will work closely with the team in the development process.
